New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW) is officially returning to the calendar after securing a landmark three-year sponsorship deal with Giltrap Group, the country’s largest automotive importer and retailer. The partnership not only revives the event after its 2024 cancellation due to economic constraints but also restores it to annual status, with this year’s edition confirmed for August 25–30.
The agreement marks a pivotal moment for Giltrap Group, as it brings together all of its automotive brands—including Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, Porsche, McLaren, and more—for the first time under a single sponsorship banner. Previously, the group’s support for events had been through individual brand divisions.
“This unique partnership with New Zealand Fashion Week: Kahuria has created a real buzz in our team,” said Giltrap Group CEO Steve Kenchington. “We’ve always backed Kiwi talent, whether on the racetrack or in creative industries like fashion. This collaboration isn’t just about sponsorship—it’s about celebrating shared values of design, performance and passion.”
Kenchington emphasized that the alignment of luxury automotive design and high fashion underscores a broader vision to support innovation and creative excellence across New Zealand.
Feroz Ali, owner of NZFW, echoed the significance of the partnership: “Giltrap Group’s generous backing enables us to stage a world-class event that reinforces New Zealand’s fashion industry as a critical part of our national identity.”
The upcoming edition, titled “NZFW presented by Giltrap Group”, will reveal its full designer lineup and official campaign at the end of June 2025. The announcement is expected to reignite momentum for one of the country’s premier cultural events and provide a high-profile platform for emerging and established New Zealand designers.
The return of NZFW represents not only a rejuvenation of the domestic fashion scene but also a strategic alignment of two of the country’s most design-forward industries—luxury automotive and high fashion—under a shared banner of national pride and creative ambition.
