At the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2025 on Lake Como’s shores, BMW Group is set to reveal its latest masterpiece: the BMW Concept Speedtop. This exclusive concept car redefines the sporty Touring by merging it with the elegance of a shooting brake, showcasing distinctive proportions and design innovation. Following the debut, a limited production run will be made available to collectors.
“The essence of a true BMW is dynamism and elegance, even at rest. The BMW Concept Speedtop embodies this perfectly through its unique silhouette—a bold statement for our entire lineup, especially the Touring models,” said Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Design.
Designed for luxury and comfort, the spacious interior caters to weekend getaways for two, featuring premium materials and meticulous craftsmanship that seamlessly link the exterior’s aesthetic with the interior’s refined atmosphere. Sharing the same design language as its counterpart, the BMW Concept Skytop, the Speedtop will be produced in limited numbers for discerning enthusiasts.
The car’s unmistakable front fascia boasts a pronounced V-shaped nose, slim headlights, and an illuminated double kidney grille, underscoring its commanding presence. A signature keyline runs from the bonnet across the roof to the rear spoiler, enhancing the dynamic Touring silhouette. The roof’s gradient paintwork—from “Floating Sunstone Maroon” to “Floating Sundown Silver”—accentuates the car’s broad shoulders, complemented by exclusive two-tone 14-spoke wheels that amplify its refined elegance.
Inside, expert craftsmanship is evident in every detail. Traditional brogue-style perforations on the leather trims highlight the watchmaking-grade workmanship. The two-tone interior palette reflects the exterior hues with “Sundown Maroon” and “Moonstone White” leather seats, creating a harmonious balance between dynamic and functional zones. The leather-lined luggage compartment, adorned with brogue perforations and ambient lighting, is cleverly divided for versatile storage during extended trips.
Enhancing the luxurious appeal is BMW’s collaboration with renowned Italian leather specialist Schedoni. Two custom Schedoni leather bags, color-coordinated with the Speedtop’s palette, fit neatly behind the seats, complemented by a matching weekend bag stored in the trunk—demonstrating bespoke craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Performance-wise, the Concept Speedtop houses BMW’s most powerful V8 engine currently in production, delivering an exhilarating driving experience. Following the success of last year’s BMW Concept Skytop—limited to 50 units—Bernd Körber, Senior Vice President of BMW Brand and Product Management, confirmed a similarly exclusive production for the Speedtop. “We are pleased to offer a limited edition of 70 units, now available to order, providing collectors and enthusiasts another extraordinary opportunity to own a unique BMW creation.”
The BMW Concept Speedtop stands as a testament to the brand’s fusion of design excellence, craftsmanship, and performance, marking a new chapter in the evolution of the sporty Touring segment.
