Casio is expanding its premium G-Shock MR-G line with two striking additions under the “kurogane-iro” theme—set for release in June 2025. The new models, MRG-B2000RG-3AJR and MRG-B2000BG-3AJR, have surfaced on Great G-Shock World Japan with a confirmed retail price of 385,000 yen (approximately $2,470 USD) each.
The identical pricing is notable given the distinct construction differences between the two. Traditionally, full titanium bracelet models such as the MRG-B2000BG-3AJR command a higher price than versions with rubber straps. However, the RG-3AJR offsets this with a premium recrystallized titanium bezel, likely balancing the cost equation.
Both models maintain a unified aesthetic centered around a deep green base and gold accents, drawing from the traditional Japanese “kurogane-iro” (iron color) palette. The MRG-B2000RG-3AJR features a black fluoro-rubber strap and a brushed, stone-textured bezel fastened with exposed hex screws. Meanwhile, the MRG-B2000BG-3AJR opts for a smoother, full titanium bracelet with a refined brushed finish.
Functionally, both watches carry the hallmark features of the MR-G lineup: solar-powered operation, Bluetooth connectivity, world time covering over 300 cities, and a triple subdial layout offering calendar and multi-time zone tracking. The dial design incorporates a traditional kikkō (turtle shell) motif around the subdials, with gold-accented applied markers enhancing the dimensionality.
While Casio has not yet issued an official press release, retail listings suggest that the watches will be available in limited quantities through G-Shock boutiques and select Japanese retailers starting next month.
