Audi’s entry-level E-Tron GT has finally arrived, nearly a year after the German automaker introduced a refreshed version of its electric sedan. While the focus initially centered on the more powerful S and RS variants, this new base model offers a more affordable alternative. Visually, the differences between the base model and its sportier counterparts are subtle, with the most noticeable updates being additional black accents at the front and the absence of S/RS badging at the rear.
Despite being the entry-level option, the E-Tron GT base still boasts Audi’s renowned Quattro all-wheel-drive system, with an electric motor on each axle. The vehicle delivers a combined output of 496 horsepower, with a boost to 577 hp when using launch control. This power is enough for the sedan to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just four seconds. In comparison to the sportier S model, which shares the same battery pack, the base version is 66.1 pounds (30 kilograms) lighter, although its curb weight still stands at 5,200 lbs, including a 165-pound driver.
The E-Tron GT is equipped with a 97.0-kilowatt-hour battery, offering a range of up to 386.5 miles (622 kilometers) on the WLTP cycle. Even in its most affordable form, it supports ultra-fast 320-kW charging. Under optimal conditions, the vehicle can gain 177 miles (285 kilometers) of range in just 10 minutes, with a full 10 to 80 percent charge taking only 18 minutes, provided a compatible charger is available.
Choosing the base E-Tron GT means sacrificing some performance. It is 0.6 seconds slower in the 0-62 mph sprint and has 93 fewer horsepower compared to the S model. However, the base version compensates with an additional 12 miles (20 kilometers) of range, thanks to a less powerful electric motor setup and a slightly reduced weight.
In Germany, the base E-Tron GT starts at €108,900, which is €17,100 less than the S model. However, the Porsche Taycan 4, a competitor, is priced slightly lower at €107,300, while the Taycan’s single-motor, rear-wheel-drive variant starts at €102,600.
