Australia’s largest independent family-owned brewery, Coopers, has announced that its popular Dark Ale will be available in cans for the first time, responding to mounting calls from beer enthusiasts nationwide.
Traditionally offered only in bottles and kegs, Coopers Dark Ale will now be sold in 375ml brown cans for a limited time, marking the final beer in the brewery’s core range to receive the canned treatment.
“This has been our most requested product development over the past year,” said Coopers Managing Director Michael Shearer. “More and more fans have been asking for Dark Ale in a can, and we’re proud to deliver on that request—even if only temporarily. Our brewers have rigorously tested the can format, and we’re confident the taste and presentation will hit the mark.”
Crafted using all malt and naturally conditioned across all packaging formats, Coopers Dark Ale is renowned for its deep amber hue, achieved through a blend of roasted and crystal malts. The beer offers a rich, full-bodied flavor, balanced by hop bitterness that creates a smooth and satisfying finish.
The limited release coincides with the onset of cooler months, a peak season for dark beer consumption in Australia. Coopers Dark Ale continues to be a leading choice among dark beer aficionados during this period.
