Jeff Bezos’ $500 million superyacht, Koru, has made a stop in Mallorca before heading to Venice, where it will host the highly anticipated wedding between the Amazon founder and Lauren Sánchez on June 24. The lavish event, expected to attract global attention, is set to be one of the most talked-about weddings of the year, with a guest list that includes celebrities and high-profile figures from around the world.
Measuring 138 meters in length, Koru is a remarkable sailing yacht featuring three towering 70-meter masts, a deep blue aluminium hull, and classic design elements inspired by historic schooners. Its opulent amenities include two expansive wooden decks, a large swimming pool on the aft deck, luxurious cabins for 18 guests, and a dedicated crew of 40. The vessel’s figurehead, a custom carving of Lauren Sánchez as a goddess, is one of its most striking features.
The yacht was first launched in the summer of 2023, with its maiden voyage marking Bezos and Sánchez’s engagement. The couple visited Mallorca during the inaugural trip, which also included stops in Ibiza and the French Riviera. Now, Koru returns to the Mediterranean as the setting for their upcoming nuptials. Expected guests include stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Eva Longoria, Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, Barbra Streisand, Kim Kardashian, and members of the Trump family, including former President Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner.
Bezos and Sánchez first visited Mallorca in 2019 aboard the Rising Sun, a 138-meter yacht owned by Hollywood producer David Geffen, shortly after Bezos’ high-profile divorce from his first wife, MacKenzie Scott. Sánchez, a former television presenter of Mexican descent, was also ending a long-term relationship.
The name Koru is derived from the Māori word symbolizing new beginnings, strength, growth, and peace, reflecting the couple’s new chapter together. With the yacht now anchored in Mallorca, all eyes are on the upcoming wedding, which is poised to be a celebration of luxury, romance, and star-studded glamour in Venice.
