Cadillac has unveiled its latest concept car, the Opulent Velocity, heralding a new era in all-electric luxury performance. Designed to push the boundaries of personal freedom through autonomous mobility, this concept showcases Cadillac’s vision for the future of driving.
The Opulent Velocity offers an immersive experience with its Level 4 autonomous driving capability. This advanced system enables a hands-free journey enhanced by multi-sensory modes, accessible through a full widescreen display and an Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR HUD). These features aim to provide unparalleled relaxation and comfort for passengers.
When transitioning to the Velocity experience, users can expect an exhilarating hypercar thrill while maintaining the luxurious essence of Cadillac’s V-Series. The transformation is activated by a touch-sensitive multi-functional controller. In this mode, the steering wheel and pedals are revealed, inviting the driver to take control. The concept’s front seats, anchored to a cantilevered Y-shaped console and connected directly to the doors, ensure a secure and dynamic driving experience during high-speed maneuvers.
Inspired by Cadillac’s track-proven Blackwing engineering, the Velocity mode integrates a “Ghost Car” function displayed on the HUD screen. This feature acts as a user guide, offering a competitive driving course to refine lap times or challenge peers on various tracks.
